Cornballer Bad Hands Play of the Week

We've all seen stupid plays in football, caused by a variety of reasons. Some mental errors aren't as costly as others, and some certainly don't make a player look as foolish as others will.

This one might be the stupidest.

Quick context: Utah was up 7-0 against fifth-ranked Oregon in the first quarter with the ball. They had a chance to go up by two scores early.

So naturally, in the spirit of doing Utah things, this happened.

Two things: first, there's never a reason to showboat like that early in a game against a top five team. Second, LOOK AT WHERE YOU ARE ON THE FIELD. Third, there's no reason to ever showboat like that period.

Okay, I lied. There were three things.

But that's how incredibly mind-numbing this play was. Did this poor kid at no point think, "Hey, should I make sure I'm actually in the end zone before celebrating?"

Ironically, this kid went to the same high school as Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson, who did literally the same thing back in 2008.

I guess it runs in the Long Beach Polytechnic High School family.
